About Me

Aloha, I'm Allan

Allan Martin

I have a great deal to be thankful for. I have a beautiful wife and two wonderful kids, they are the source of the smile on my face and the love in my heart.  I love spending time with my family, that is a freedom I enjoy and do quite often.

Thanks to my amazing parents and the US Navy, I grew up in the beautiful Aloha State, Hawaii, and lived in places like Alaska and Florida.  I now make my home in Florida, love the sunshine but still not used to the humidity.

I graduated high school in Key West and attended the University of Florida.  Go Gators!  You will see my affection for the Orange and Blue.

While at UF, I worked for the Registrar's Office, at K-Mart and did some odd jobs installing stereos.  I wanted to pay for my education and at the very least relieve some of the financial pressure from my parents.

My hard work paid off and I received my Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and System Engineering.  I was an 'educated man.'  I had planned on going to graduate school and ultimately becoming a professional engineer - life happened and I didn't make it to becoming a P.E.

Somewhere along that path my passion for music, electronics and cars got the better of me.  I created a real business in the 12-volt electronics field - car stereos.  My brother-in-law and I scraped together as much money as we had and we opened the doors.  We were quite successful and the business grew, first to a much larger location and more employees.  I had an opportunity to work with manufacturers in the industry as a marketing rep, so I sold my part of the business and started a new chapter.

At that time, my new wife didn't like the hours and travel I put in to be a successful marketing rep.  So, I listened to my boss and jumped into the corporate retail world.  I worked my way up and became the Store Manager for a big box retailer.  It was retail and it was the corporate environment.  After some years, it was time for me to leave the corporate world.

I created another business in marketing and advertising for local business.  At the same time, my interest and passion for all things internet took hold and off I went.

I got started with this ‘online thing’ in 2010. Prior to 2010, I tried an MLM or two, but I didn’t get far, I did eat a lot of healthy chocolate though. I caught a case of BSO syndrome (Bright, Shiny Object) and failed many times over the next few years. I bought a bunch of stuff and went down a number of paths, all of which had me pulling my hair out. I made some money here and there, but I wasn’t getting any real results.

I remember what it was like to be a 'newbie', it sucked.  There was and is a tremendous wealth of information (and misinformation) on the web, navigating the tidal wave of information can be trying.  I received all kinds of advice to do this and do that, then make this and make that.  Ultimately, I had to find myself and use my skills to carve out a piece of the 'interwebs.'

One day, I woke up, got dialed in and worked with a mentor. That’s when things started to change and the online thing was no longer a time and money pit. Internet marketing and the whole online business idea became fun. Yes, finally I was having fun building my business and I’m still having fun.

Now, after tasting some success, I created this site to share some what I do in my business and what I do in daily life - the good and bad. My hope is that you will find the information I share useful, valuable and entertaining. And hopefully, I can help you avoid some of the headaches and lost hair that I went through.

I wish you the best and nothing but success!
